The ancient wisdom traditions of India have endured for over 5000 years, preserving profound and revelatory truths that impact the lives of humankind while adapting to contemporary circumstances.

The stability of these traditions and the purity of their transmission are attributable to the oral tradition – the Sampradāya – where knowledge is passed from teacher to student, intact and enlivened.

A hallmark of these traditions is the acknowledgment of Source.

At the heart of our lineage lie the teachings of Hart deFouw and K.L. Mantri, whose wisdom forms the bedrock of our collective knowledge. The profound vision and compassion of these guides illuminates our path every day.

I am not other than Light.
The universe manifests at my glance.

Penny Farrow

Penny Farrow

The transformational power of the Vedic tradition came early in life to Penny who, in 1971, became a practitioner and teacher of Transcendental Meditation. The importance of lineage and oral transmission was cultivated from that time onward and informed her path in life.  Though she holds a B.S. and M.S. in Biological Sciences from Cornell University, once introduced to Jyotiṣa, she knew that this great Vidyā would be her life’s work.  It was her good fortune to meet and study under K.N. Rao, who facilitated her introduction to Hart deFouw.  She immediately knew he was the teacher she was looking for.  Since 1992, Penny has studied intensely in person under his brilliant tutelage, gaining deep insights and expertise.  As demand grew for her readings and teachings, she began to envision how she could use the power of online teaching to reach students who could not attend classes in person and yet not compromise the integrity of oral transmission.  The Cosmic Kaleidoscope is the result of that envisioning and she carefully crafted a way to simulate and preserve the enlivening power of Sampradāya.  With the blessings of her teacher, the saṅgha grew such that Penny needed to address increased demand and joyfully invited outstanding teachers trained in the Mantri/Hart lineage to join her in sharing this precious wisdom.
